As many already know, deciding on the title of a work is
probably the single most difficult thing to do. But, after much thought
and even consideration of others ideas, we have determined that
"Inside the MANSON Gang" best represents what the new
MANSON movie is really about. The original 1973 MANSON film painted a
vivid picture of America's most notorious living gangster and now the
new movie, takes you deep inside of his gang.
Now that the new film is completed, many of you are
anxious to see it, and we are exploring all avenues of distribution to
accomplish just that. BUT now comes the interesting part. The new film,
together with the original MANSON presents a unique opportunity for the
whole MANSON story to finally hit the big screen via a top notch
director and an "A" list cast. Imagine, your favorite star in a
multi-million dollar production, for the first time, revealing the true
story of Charles Manson AKA an American Gangster. Although this was
being discussed way before the new American Gangster movie just
opened on Friday, there is no doubt, its huge success ( $43,000,000 the
1st weekend ) will surely cause some studio executives to think about
jumping on the gangster bandwagon. That is how Hollywood
operates, and smartly so.
More importantly, "American Gangster" has pushed
the envelope and finally broken down the barrier of long established
taboos, which have heretofore prevented the portrayal of real life
villains by Hollywood's leading men. Make no mistake, only the best of a
handful of actors could possibly entertain you with their portrayal of
an actual monster like Frank Lucas (American Gangster) or Charles
Manson. With his portrayal of the ruthless black gangster who, at the
time of the Manson Gang's reign of terror, infected most of Harlem with
truckloads of heroin shipped from Vietnam in the coffins of young
American soldiers, Denzel Washington has done just that.
Well, the question now is, is there any "A" list
actor in Hollywood, who can portray Charles Manson with the same
success? Are there any female actors who can effectively portray the
MANSON girls?
Wait you say, Charles Manson was not a gangster and his
Family was not a gang, he was the Devil and they were a Satanic cult.
But that was Life magazine who created the "Love and Terror Cult" idea.
Then rumors began to fly and Satanic rituals with drugs became the talk
of the town. And it all made sense, because Ms. Tate's new husband Roman
Polanski, with the release of his new movie Rosemary's Baby, had just
made Devil worship popular again. So the rumors grew and books were
written. When it came time for the prosecution to take the stage, it
only had to shout Heretic!!! He made my watch stop!! Burn the
witches!!! But what about Manson's real upbring in the arms of
actual gangsters on the playgrounds of real prison gangs, like the
Mexican Mafia, the Black Panthers, the Aryan Brotherhood, and not to
forget the infamous Italian Mafia.
The fact of the matter is, in 1967 a younger Charlie
Manson would emerge from prison as a personable junior gangster, only to
return in 1969, as America's poster boy for the death penalty. Prior to
1967 in a prison cell, a younger Charlie would sit and listen intently
to Alvin Karpis, who at the time held the record for the most successful
bank robberies, tell him stories of his life on the run. You only need
to imagine Charlie's childlike excitement, as the elder Karpis talked
about his also infamous partner, Ma Barker. Ahh, those were the days,
when a man was a man and a gangster's ladies were also tough. In
addition to "Gangsters 101," Al also taught Charlie how to play the
guitar, and thus the groundwork would be laid for the creation of
America's first musically dangerous gangster. It was also in the prison
yard that the Black Muslims taught an impressionable Charlie that they
would someday destroy whitey and then run things their way.
Simplistic as it seems, Charles Manson was just a
bad-ass gangster. Like the time when a Los Angeles drug dealer
threatened to take out some of Charlie's own. In turn, Charlie went to
the man's apartment and said "take me instead". When the black drug
dealer replied "no, its not you I want", Charlie said "Ok, then I'll
take you", drew a hand gun and shot the man at point blank range. That
is not a cultist that is a ruthless gangster and Charlie's Family, now a
bonafide gang, would soon shock the world with a gangland style
massacre.
So now that "American Gangster" has proved to be
an outstanding success, wouldn't it be money-wise for someone to now
make a first class motion picture about America's most notorious living
gangster, Charles Manson and his most unusual gang? Especially because
all of the original color footage taken with the real Gang is available,
which by way of modern technology can be used to recreate authentic
scenes with today's actors inserted therein. There are also two
completed documentary features, "MANSON" and "Inside the MANSON
Gang" and a rough cut of a 5 hour mini-series. Not to mention,
the real story. So is anyone out there interested in putting together an
incredible motion picture with enough authentic film to also promote the
project with a very high level of exposure?
